Here one more test shoot out the NEW FACES series we've been working on for ELVIS models!
Eva is only 15 but her flow was sooooo natural and pro that she had us all astonished with her high-endness. I had so much fun styling this shoot, I just left all inhibitions out the door and went for it.
Drop a comment a comment babies! I wanna know what y'all think!
Never thought of posting any party pics around here...probably not the wisest thing to do but screw it, now it feels right. Lately I've been sort of rejecting all the perfection and retouched aesthetic in fashion blogging world; NOTHING against these dear bloggers though, I still respect them and enjoy what they do A LOT, but I've just been craving for something a little bit more effortless and spontaneous.
Therefore I need to salute Iris & Daniel from WE HAVE NO STYLE. The way they document each other is in one hand very well thought of very editorial-perfect, but on the other, it always stays quirky and unexpected: FASH & FRESH.
and a pair of heels which believe it or not, are REAL. No cyber artists involved (or probably there ARE?) no photoshop, no modifications. This shoe exists and you all may hate me for posting it but I can do nothingelse but ADORE IT AND I WANNA WEAR IT RIGHT NOW AND TOMORROW TO SCHOOL TOO.
Last night I attended the Dutch Fashion Awards which is FOR ONCE a big hapenning held in my city. So no need of late night train rides back home, just easy chill biking.
The whole set of the evening was meant to look like one huge dinner party, during which we would enjoy several fashion shows. And I don't know if it's because I'm dealing with a lot of romanticism while writing my thesis, but the whole evening felt very Lana del Rey, just beautiful, melancholic, impressive, having dinner in a beautiful church while waiters served food and drinks in a choreographed almost army-like way; dressed in black and white with papillon print bow ties. It was perfect.
As I talked to friends, and friends of friends, I was surprised with the response everyone had about Alexander taking over at Balenciaga. So much negativity and prejudged opinions which to be honest didn't even had a strong fundament. Perhaps I'm naive, and this COULD be a catastrophy as everyone's making it sound, but isn't the whole fashion systen upside down and catastrophical right now anyway?! I MEAN.....MMM for H&M? Kanye West having his own fashion house? showing in Paris? PEOPLE ATTENDING THE SHOW?, Hedi Slimane at Saint Laurent? Raf at DIOR???? GALLIANO OUT OF THE GAME??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?......
Bitches please, list goes on and on AND BTW it's 2012, we all might just die in a month exactly so why not enjoy the mess while it lasts? stop being so stuck up, look at things lightly and MOST IMPORTANTLY, don't put anyone up in a pedestal to throw stones at him once he's made it to the top.
I just can't believe it was the same people from whom I have heard words of love and ecstatic admiration for Alex Wang that were looking down on his triumph last night and what could probably be something extremly refreshing and beautiful in the fashion scene's future.
So no matter what them haters might say, I'm happy for him! I see myself in him one once! and I TOO will take over something huge one day! and those same haters will hate me too! but that's okay and all cause I'll be too busy whatsappin with Alex about the things we bought lately and our wonderful lives.
I JUST discovered Crystal Castles' new album "III" and I came across this picture of Stefan Schwartzman on facebook while listening to it. Stefan is a boy from London whom I don't exactly know irl BUT if I remember well I added him precisely because of his eye for photoshop fantasy and his sportswear twink style. DAILY EYE CANDY.
I hardly ever know how to review music but all I can say is that "III" is softer and cuter than their last productions and I'm kinda loving it. To me the album kinda only starts at track 04: Affection. First three songs I don't need.
Sometimes life is a bitch and all I wanna say in return is BITCH DON'T KILL MY VIBE.
ALL I'm trying to do is get things right and somehow it all comes back down. Although self-pitty is not an option, I find myself wondering often WHY WHY WHY?
Thank God clothes exist in this case and wearing cashmere, denim, mohair and suede altogether is one of those feelings that make it all right.
Some of you have trully loved the amount of music I've been posting around here lately so Imma keep it coming for y'all boos cause my facebook home feed has been off the hook lately with amazing songs popping with every refresh like nobody's business.
I can't believe I will actually see her live, I will experience her whole divine self in real life and I will think all kinds of amazing thoughts you always come up with at concerts like: I'M HERE, WITH HER.......WE'RE BREATHING THE SAME AIR......SHE'S REAL.......................................
MY HEART goes to my bf who once again gives me an amazing gift, and to my friend Patrick with whom I listened to the PARADISE edition once it was released at the same time via whatsapp. Can't for it to be 29.05.13 and cry tears of joy that whole night with them both while listening to HER.
Fashion blogger Andy Torres, Mexican born and raised but based in Amsterdam has really blown me away with this collab she recently made with CANON for the launch of their latest camera: The Canon EOS M which is their first mirrorless interchangeable lens camera, meaning a small compact body that produces extremly highquality photographs which also gives you the option of changing lenses, depending on what you want to photograph.
Not only do I think she trully made a great effort to show what this delish litte camera is capable of, I also like these two amazing try outs for their sensibility and creativity; seen from a fashion-blogging point of view, it's just refreshing to see someone popping out of the box, breaking the mold.
So thumbs up to Andy! and if you want to catch more of these bloggers and artists trying fun stuff with their new toy click HERE.
Last year while at school one of my classmates once handed me a black plastic bag with this INSANE original floor length Matrix leather coat. She said her boyfriend had once bought it in his gothic/comic freak years and they were about to throw it awaycause it was big, heavy and took too much space in the closet.
Thank God as any other good fashion student in the world, she was not going to throw so much leather away, much less in a shape of a perfectly cool coat. Like this I'm FOREVER thankful to her for thinking of me before binning this odd beauty.
OKAY okay I know you've probably seen this kind of post all over the blogosphere already but deal with it.
Just one of those days you can be so happily trapped in tragedy? let me explain......
On my way to school earlier I locked myself out of my house with tons of school stuff with me, books, pencil cases, magazines lalala bla bla but this also meant I couldn't even unlock my bike to go to school and warm up meanwhile my bf got home in the evening. So while freezing I try to come up with a way to walk and drag all my school mess at the same time when this guy taps my shoulder (scares the shit out of me) and hands me this huge H&M box and asks me to sign his delivery machine thingy.
I couldn't have dropped everything I had in hands faster, and as he walks away I drop on my knees and start acting like it was christmas all up in my street. TO BE QUITE EFFIN HONEST it was such a sweet surprise of my boyfriend (who cashed all the goodies) to besides getting me the keychain collier and bracelet ALSO managed to snatch a silver candy wrap bag online, altogether for my b-day!
As I had ripped open everything in the box (including his items) I realised I had even more bagagge than before. I walked around the corner and borrowed this monster ladder from the guys at the wood factory (yes this is my neigborhood) whom were completely freaked out by my looks, presence and could not believe I could carry the whole thing back and forth on my own (me either actually).
Finally I climbed up my balcony, or well, first mistook my balcony with the neighbor's and ended up in the wrong house. ALL OF THIS in cashmere, leather and suede shoes WHATS UP.
Three photos that have been in my inspiration folder for ages and have begged me to become a blog post ever since.
So the time for them has finally come, together with RiRi's "Numb" which I'm probably gonna turn deaf from for listening to it too often too loud AND while driving my bike so let's hope I don't just die right after not being able to hear shit.
Besides the homo-erotic vibe that is set right away by putting them
altogether in this way, I love how the situations shown seem so obvious
and yet each could be placed in completely different contexts.
