Both of these montages, by my sister Lucciana - cr1me.tumblr.com
The atmosphere within is just amazing.
Her references, slow mo's, cuts, contrasts, timing.....CHECK CHECK CHECK!
Once again I'm so surprised by this one thing I never saw, something she just pops out and says, HERE! I can also do this!...and I'm everytime like daaaaaayam, I'm not even pass 25 yet and the next generation is already out and about! here and rulling!
But I LOVE it.
I was so shocked but extremly inspired by knowing that all the footage in each montage wasn't just disposable video material she had lying around in dvd's or something?....she actually has been building each edit out of small video fragments that she recorded with her smart phone and just glued it onto the rest of fragments according to the music.
Simply the art of editing but in a primitive 21st century, cyber-romantic kind of way.
I'd seriously die a million deaths for this!!!!!!!!!
It's unbelievable how simple and yet so strong this is............................................................
I love how iconic she's become in a matter of seconds. She's just.....UP THERE, untouchable.
She just sits there, and let you wonder, is she a queen? is she a goddess? is she dead? an angel? or is she just a bored princess in her beautifully boring castle????
I don't know why but the whole message in the video about: "WE BURN SO HARD BUT WE WONT BURN LONG" makes me think so much about the comparissons being made lately in between Lindsay Lohan and Marilyn Monroe, and how Lindsay seems to be obsessed about dying young, iconic and beautiful just like Marilyn did.
But I guess miss Lohan is once again not in the right track, because Lana has become EXACTLY what she could have been.
I mean, it's not that hard LiLo, you're a bad girl, face it, EMBRACE IT! DIE! BURN! PLAY WITH TIGERS!.....
PS. to wrap it up, the whole thing is just so VOGUE, and her face???? where to even start.....gosh.....it's perfection....I can see New York's society rushing up to their surgeons with pictures of Lana like: MAKE ME HER, NOW.
God knows I would!
Sometimes, somethings are just meant to be.
And the Boekhorststraat in The Hague seems to be the upcoming spot where galleries, pop-up stores and all the good vintage in the city feel the need to be placed together at the moment. Last week I passed ZITY ZOO by and the fact that I couldn't really figure out what kind of store this was at first sight, really captivated me into having a second look.
From outside? their pleasantly vintage logotype paired with black and white floor tiles gives a high-class barber shop feeling but once you spot the clothing, shoes, dolls, bags, books and jewelry, it immediatly translates 'antique'.
From inside? clearly vintage, but with a style, taste...a vision. So many vintage stores all around nowadays, popping up by the second, but none of them with these three such extremly relevant qualities.
All we're asking for nowadays is IDENTITY! not replicas.
As the store's sales people let me in so kindly (although they were getting the place ready for an event tomorrow) I realized there were tons of things I would really like to have. Here above some of my favourite items. my ultimate 2 favourites are not here cause I'll be picking them up tomorrow and I'll keep them a secret till then!
ZITY ZOO is hosting a collective shopping evening together with several other vintage and pop-up stores along the Boekhorstsraat tomorrow from 18.00 till 21.00. 20% Discount!!
And all I know is that GIRLS!!!!!!!!!! need to get their groove on these Massimo Dutti pointy nose-studden kitten heels (last time while in Paris, the Prada version of these were aaaaaaaaaall over) and the white Chanel-like faux fur platform extravaganzas! and this is only two pairs out of their small but substancial shoe-collection. Vintage custom clothes by Bersa were hot hot hot too!
Last sunday my friends Rabin & Robin launched Corsage's upcoming collection: 'Oceans'.
In between imagery projections and the exhibition of the collection itself, they both kindly asked me if I'd be up for wearing one of their special pieces on the day of the event.
So there I was! my angelical-self in white wool and ostrich feathers.
Thanks to Corsage and R&R for the oportunity!
M2M - Mirror Mirror
GOSH I WAS 10!
And this still wakes pre-teenage butterflies up in my stomach hahahaha
Earlier today, while struttin them school halls, fine arts had their upcoming offspring applying for their entrance exam, and in between all the "fine" art, there was this one particular girl who made this really ugly (nice ugly) mirror drawing in the shape of Google's logotype and wrote rigth below:
Mirror Mirror, who am I?
To me, she's IN.
No second thought.
And if there's something I love the most besides being extremly critical and ridiculously analytic it's to watch a beautiful girl apply make-up.
La Schaduw here above had me hypnotized.
As I previously mentioned it!
It only lasted for three whole days, but I'll have three more intensive ones in march when it will be possible to wrap up my design and produce it for collezzioniiiiiiiiiiiiiiii.
I loved it.
And as much as I love you all around here, I just don't feel comfortable with sharing the picture of the finished prototype out in the open blogosphere. If there's something I've learnt THE FUCKING HARD WAY in this one year and a half is: do NOT ever EVER spill your ideas before the time's right.
It's sad to honestly and kindly trust people by sharing your world and then be slapped back on the face with your own idea.
But whatever, people who steal, will always have to steal; people who come up with good shit will always bring it.
Don't be alarmed honeys!
This has nothing to do with HHHOLY "going through rough times" or something lame like that...I guess the only lame thing and equally amazing about this post are these stupid "parfume" bottles!! I wonder who comes up with such fragrances! who's running this business?! I hope at least they're having the time of their lives by coming up with these names! I know I would!
On the contrary, these are great times! for me AND! all my baby blogs.
That's maybe why I _almost_ don't feel bad about not posting stuff around here for a while, just like how I don't feel bad at all for craving Isabel Marant's Bekket high top sneakers for Xmas!!!
(I totally do, and I'm so lame, cause I've always hated sneakers and talked shit about people who wear them and now all of a sudden I pull this hypocritical move where this one specific sneaker just seems untouchable, iconic and simply PERFECT!)
.....no but really, there's tons of stuff happening all around me at the moment, tons of adorable and extremly exciting things!
such as shoe-design projects for upcoming collection
portfolio, website and teaser design for internship next summer,
2'S LAUNCHING PARTY THIS SATURDAY!
Xmas in Paris!
New Year's Eve "B-ICONIC" party at our house with all our best friends!
And all this of course in between the most important and precious process of them all: COLLECTION DESIGN.
There's one little extra thing I'D DIE to tell u guys about but I just can't yet cause I'd be day-dreaming!
Boycotting UV body paint and neon tribal clothing has been pretty much the best party decision I've taken lately!
"SOMEHOW" I wasn't the only bride around last night in the middle of that neon native tribe craze, but I was definetly the prettiest one...in a dress that actually fitted....it itched but it fitted.
I loved this ball gown feeling topped with my motorcycle jacket.
ONE THING was to read the article on the online version...
And another was to actually see my name and 2's printed on the december issue of the GLAMCULT.
Made it all so real and official in this bizarre but extremly exciting way.
My heart goes to Steffie Henderson (GLAMCULT's fashion editor) for giving me and my black & white baby this sweet opportunity!
PS. PLEASE NOTE! I'm on the same page with Azzedine Alaia?! WATAP!!!!...like Paris H.would say: "...HUGE"
